SPLIT SECOND

DIRECTOR: Dick Powell YEAR: 1953

Two gangsters escape from a Nevada jail and take hostages along with a car at a gas station. The group is forced to detour to a desert ghost town reserved for an imminent atomic test in order to avoid a police roadblock. Another film set at an atomic test site (see THE ATOMIC KID), but with bleaker consequences.
